Horses are a prey species and can react very differently than other pets to stressful situations – it is normally a case of run first, ask questions later! This can mean that the human hunter gatherer finds it harder to understand the reasons underlying common problems seen in horses compared to other pets. A combination of insight into natural horse behaviour, coupled with compassionate training techniques allows a non-confrontational way of overcoming many common ridden and training issues.
